What Is the Amazon Climate Exchange?
The Amazon Climate Exchange (ACX) is a company that Brokers Carbon Credit Sales, Amazon Basin Land Sales, and Amazon Basin Land Leases. Utilizing all of the proper infrastructure, we are the only legitimate company in Brazil for this business. ACX is not a small operation: we are backed by one of the largest investment funds in Europe and one of the largest investment groups in the US, as well as a myriad of smaller investors and funds.
Our Goal
The goal of ACX is to reforest and protect the entire Amazon Basin region by justifying financially driven carbon credits projects as well as sustainable long term forestry projects.
The Amazon Land Myth
There is a myth about owning land in the Amazon. Many people believe there is over 400 million hectares of land in the Amazon available for purchase. In truth, however, only 4% of that land (about 16 million hectares, or 40 million acres) is actually owned and legally available for sale (as stated by the Brazilian government).
This widely held misconception has proved to be problematic for many parties interested in purchasing large tracts of land in the Amazon. The truth is that there are only a few properties available. Because of these facts, the main beneficiary of Amazon Carbon Credits is the Brazilian Government.
Why Buy Carbon Credits in Brazil?
18% of the world’s carbon emissions come from deforestation of rainforest. The Amazon Rainforest is the single largest rainforest in the world. By stopping deforestation in the Amazon, we eliminate between 4% to 10% of the world's carbon emissions. This alone is the single easiest way to assist in reaching world carbon targets.
Who uses ACX and who is buying Amazon Land?
Individual investors, large investment funds and corporations have the best chance at buying carbon credits, leasing land for conservation and buying actual land for conservation. The larger properties have been shopped up by large investors in Europe over the past three years, and although there are a few hundred thousand hectares for sale today, overall most properties will not pass a title review.
What We Do
ACX performs two main tasks. The first is brokering existing carbon credits and leasing for property owners that do not wish to sell their Amazon land. The second is brokering clean title properties for parties interested in selling their Amazon land.

Selling Carbon Credits
We are backed by 2 primary European and US investment groups. Both have agreed to purchase or lease all carbon credits at specific price points. These price points are not negotiable and they are at an amount that the market will bear.
NOTE: Officially, there is no real set price for carbon credits for virgin forest properties. The prices are set to factor in the buyer's risk. Buyers are buying carbon credits in a system that may or may not ever come into fruition, looking at the long term implementation of the Forest Carbon Credit program, and are justifying their purchases as more of a voluntary project.

We are currently seeking more large institutions to buy Reforestation Properties for Teak or Mahogany. Due to Teak's huge carbon mitigation ability, these type of projects come with vast amounts of carbon credits. Please contact us for more information.
